Firstly from the astrological angle:
To love and be loved in return is something most people desire. To find someone who wishes to share their lives with you is precious and wonderful. It would be such a shame to throw away the chance of a warm and loving relationship because of an erroneous belief that if star signs aren’t compatible the love affair is doomed to failure!
Sun sign astrology is a lot of fun and can give a huge amount of information about a person’s life, character and relationships but this is not all there is to astrology.
True astrology involves having a chart drawn up from the date, time and place of birth. Within that chart, all the planet positions in the signs and houses, their aspects to each other and other angles of the horoscope are considered to build up a true character analysis.
Equally when astrologers compare charts, it won’t just be the sun sign they consider but the two different personalities, the links between all the planets in both charts, and where one individual’s planets fall in the other’s chart. This results in a complex assortment of astrological factors which are woven together to form an-depth chart comparison.
Astrology is a fascinating subject that can offer incredible insight into personalities and life trends. Astrology can also be a wonderful tool to help people understand their partner and friends and how their relationships work. Venus will offer insight into the love and creativity that is shared, the Moon will indicate the depth of emotional bond between the couple while Mars will reveal sexual desires. Saturn might give an idea of how committed the pair will be to each other and so on.
I like to think that when drawing up personal charts and charts for chart-comparison, astrology can be used to give insight and guidance to help people acknowledge and build on their strengths and accept their weaknesses. Understanding your own and your partner’s make-up can enhance awareness of yourself and your relationships and even change the way you look at any problems you might be going through.
So, yes I would recommend anyone who wants a deeper understanding of their relationships to have their charts compared by an astrologer. Again I would advise this once the relationship is formed and not as a means to ‘check before committing.’ An astrologer will give advice and guidance but it is always for the individual to make their own decisions.
Secondly from a psychological angle:
There are many factors that go into forming a relationship. These include personality, circumstance, each partner’s past experiences and the joyful (or in some cases not so joyful) moments they share together.
To go into a relationship with the idea it will be ‘incompatible’ will instantly throw a negative tinge over the partnership as at least one partner will be acting as if it’s ‘not going to work.’ How healthy is this for the relationship? Equally, star signs might suggest compatibility but the relationship might bump into difficulties. One partner may start blaming themselves for this. After all, astrologically, it should work, so what’s going wrong?
Even the best relationships go through difficult patches and it can take effort, time and dedication to get through these together. To foolishly expect star sign compatibility means a fairytale happy-ever-after romance will lead to disappointment.
Comparing star signs can give a good indication of how two different personalities (based only on Sun signs) might get on. Some people who have their sun sign strong in their chart will find these incredibly accurate and insightful. But true chart comparison involves so much more than just the sun sign.
Enjoy your relationships, have fun with star sign astrology but don’t let star sign compatibility dictate the future of your relationship. … Make that decision yourself!
